E Media

In today's lesson I have learnt what JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF and SVG are.
JPEG: Is used for lossy compression of an image. This means that the compression has adjusted the image to a smaller storage size and sometimes loss in image quality. JPEG is most commonly used for sharing images and photographs on the web.
GIF: Is used for a simpler palette colour, text and graphics. It is used mainly for lined drawings as it gives a smoother outcome of the lines and the colour.
PNG: Is a format used for lossless compression. PNG was designed for sharing images via the Internet.
TIFF: This is used for printing high quality images.
SVG: Is used for creating simple two dimensional graphics.
